  • Planet positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris, the astronomical library professional astrology software uses.
  • The chart is sidereal (Vedic), using the Lahiri ayanamsa by default, so signs are about 24° behind the Western zodiac.

What is a janam kundli?
A janam kundli is your Vedic birth chart: the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets and the rising sign (lagna) at the exact time and place you were born, arranged into 12 houses. Jyotish reads personality, timing and life areas from it.
Is this kundli really free?
Yes. Making your kundli and reading its main sections is free and needs no sign-up. Detailed paid reports are optional.
Do I need my exact birth time?
The lagna and houses change roughly every two hours, so an accurate time matters for house-based readings. If you only know an approximate time, choose that option: we test the range and show what stays stable.
What is the difference between kundli and horoscope?
A kundli is the chart itself, computed for one person. A horoscope is usually a general prediction for everyone with the same sign. A kundli-based reading is specific to your birth details.
Which ayanamsa does JyotiMitra use?
Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) by default — the standard in Indian Vedic astrology — with planet positions from the Swiss Ephemeris.
